Presentation: Vontac 10 Tablet, available in Bangladesh, contains Vonoprazan 10 mg. 

Indications: Vontac (Vonoprazan) is indicated for the treatment of acid-related disorders including:

• Gastric ulcer  
• Duodenal ulcer  
• Reflux esophagitis  
• Prevention of recurrence of gastric or duodenal ulcer during low-dose aspirin administration  
• Prevention of recurrence of gastric or duodenal ulcer duringNSAID administration  
• As part of Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy in specific conditions.

Dosage and Administration: The usual adult dose for oral administration is 10 mg of Vonoprazan once daily for the prevention of recurrence of gastric or duodenal ulcers during low-dose aspirin or NSAID administration. For gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, the usual dose is 20 mg once daily for 8 weeks and 6 weeks respectively. For reflux esophagitis, the usual dose is 20 mg once daily for 4 weeks, which may be extended up to 8 weeks if needed. For maintenance therapy of reflux esophagitis, the dose is 10 mg once daily, which may be increased to 20 mg if efficacy is inadequate. For Helicobacter pylori eradication, Vonoprazan 20 mg is typically administered twice daily in combination with specific antibiotics for 7 days. Vontac can be taken without regard to food or the timing of food intake. Always follow your doctor's specific instructions.

Side Effects: Common side effects reported with Vontac (Vonoprazan) may include diarrhea, constipation, drug hypersensitivity (including anaphylactic shock), drug eruption, urticaria, hepatotoxicity, jaundice, rash, nausea,and abdominal distension. Increased levels of gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and abnormal liver function tests have also been reported.

Precautions: Vontac (Vonoprazan) is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Vonoprazan or any of the excipients and in patients receiving atazanavir sulphate, nelfinavir, or rilpivirine hydrochloride. It should be used in pregnant women or women having the possibility of being pregnant only if the expected therapeutic benefitoutweighs any possible risk. Breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment with Vonoprazan; if administration is indispensable, nursing should be discontinued. Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Vonoprazan.

Storage: Store below 30°C, in a cool and dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
