Presentation: Each capsule contains Dexlansoprazole INN as enteric-coated pellets in strengths of 30 mg and 60 mg.

Indications: X Lan (Dexlansoprazole) is a proton pump inhibitor indicated for:

• Healing of all grades of Erosive Esophagitis (EE) for up to 8 weeks.  
• Maintaining healing of EE and relief of heartburn for up to 6 months in adults and up to 16 weeks in patients aged12 to 17 years.
• Treatment of heartburn associated with symptomatic non-erosive Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) for 4 weeks.  

Dosage and Administration:  

• The recommended dose for healing EE is 60 mg once daily for up to 8 weeks.
• For maintenance of healed EE and relief of heartburn, the recommended dose is 30 mg once daily.
• For symptomatic non-erosive GERD, the recommended dose is 30 mg once daily for 4 weeks.

X Lan capsules can be taken without regard to food. The capsule should be swallowed whole. Alternatively, the capsule may be opened, and the intact granules sprinkled on one tablespoon of applesauce and swallowed immediately. The granules should not be chewed.

Side Effects: Commonly reported side effects include diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and flatulence.

Precautions: X Lan is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation. Before initiating therapy, the possibility of gastric malignancy should be excluded. Caution should be exercised with concomitant use of methotrexate. Long-term use may increase the risk of bone fracture and hypomagnesemia.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation: X Lan should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. It is not known whetherDexlansoprazole is excreted in human milk; caution should be exercised when administering to breastfeeding women.

Storage: Store in a cool and dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
