Presentation:Each delayed-release capsule contains Dexlansoprazole INN 60 mg as enteric-coated granules. 

Indications: Xanra (Dexlansoprazole) is indicated for the treatment of:

• Healing of all grades of erosive esophagitis (EE) for up to 8 weeks.  
• Maintenance of healed erosive esophagitis and relief of heartburn for up to 6 months.  
• Treatment of heartburn associated with symptomatic non-erosive Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) for 4 weeks.  

Dosage and Administration:   The recommended dose for healing erosive esophagitis is 60 mg once daily for up to 8 weeks. For maintenance of healed EE and relief of heartburn, the dose is 30 mg once daily. For symptomatic non-erosive GERD, the dose is 30 mg once daily for 4 weeks.

Xanra capsules can be taken without regard to food. They should be swallowed whole. Alternatively, the capsule can be opened, and the intact granules sprinkled on one tablespoon of applesauce. This should be swallowed immediately, and the granules should not be chewed.

Side Effects:Common side effects may include diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and flatulence.  

Precautions:Xanra (Dexlansoprazole) is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation.Caution should be exercised in patients with gastric malignancy (rule out before treatment), Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea, bone fracture risk, and hypomagnesemia.It may interact with other medications such as Atazanavir, Warfarin, Tacrolimus, Clopidogrel, and Methotrexate.For patients with moderate hepatic impairment, a maximum daily dose of Xanra 30 mg should be considered.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation:Pregnancy Category B. There are no adequate and well-controlled studies with Dexlansoprazole in pregnant womenor lactating mothers.

Storage:Store below 30°C temperature & in a dry place, protected from light.Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
