Zico 20 

Presentation: Film-coated tablets containing Zinc Sulfate Monohydrate USP equivalent to elemental Zinc 20 mg. May be dispersible.

Indications: Indicated in zinc deficiency and/or zinc losing conditions due to inadequate diet or malabsorption, excessive loss in trauma, burns, diarrhea, and protein losing conditions. Zinc is essential for growth, health, sexual maturation, reproduction, vision, smell, taste, insulin function, and immunity.

Dosage and Administration:

• Adults and children over 30 kg: 1 tablet 1 to 3 times daily after food.
• Children 10-30 kg: As directed by a physician.
• Children under 10 kg: Use syrup formulation if available, as directed by a physician.
• May be taken 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals for best absorption, or with food if stomach upset occurs. Dispersible tablets can be dissolved in a small amount of water.

Side Effects: May cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset, heartburn, and gastritis.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to zinc. In acute renal failure, zinc accumulation may occur, requiring dose adjustment. Concomitant intake of tetracyclines or quinolones and zinc may decrease the absorption of both drugs; allow at least 3 hours between doses. Concomitant intake of penicillamine and zinc may decrease zinc absorption.

Storage: Keep in a dry place away from light and heat. Keep out of reach of children.
