Zosert 50

Presentation:
Each tablet contains 50 mg Sertraline Hydrochloride.

Indications:

• Treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD)

• Management of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)

• Relief for panic disorder (with/without agoraphobia)

• Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

• Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD)

Dosage & Administration:

• Depression/OCD: Start with 50 mg once daily (morning/evening)

• Maximum dose: 200 mg/day (gradual increase over weeks)

• Elderly: Start with 25 mg/day

• Take with/without food

• Swallow whole with water

Side Effects:

• Common:

  • Nausea, diarrhea

  • Headache, dizziness

  • Insomnia or drowsiness

  • Dry mouth

• Serious (rare):

  • Serotonin syndrome (agitation, fever)

  • Suicidal thoughts (especially in young adults)

  • Abnormal bleeding

Precautions:

• Contraindicated with MAO inhibitors (risk of fatal interaction)

• Caution in:

  • Liver/kidney disease

  • Epilepsy (may lower seizure threshold)

  • Bipolar disorder (may trigger mania)

• Pregnancy/breastfeeding: Potential risks – consult doctor

Storage:

• Store below 30°C in dry place

• Protect from light

• Keep tightly closed

Note:

• Therapeutic effect may take 2-4 weeks

• Do not stop abruptly (taper over weeks)

This medication requires regular monitoring. Report mood changes, unusual bleeding, or worsening symptoms immediately.
